Dental Clinic

The medical and dental programs at Grace have been developed extensively over the last year and a half. The medical and dental clinics are stocked and serving patients every weekend. A GES family partner comes and gives medical consultations to the students and families in the GES community three times per month. They also serve other health and welfare needs by giving workshops in early childhood development, basic first aid and wellness.

The dental program has already seen over 500 patients through dental outreach volunteer programs and there is no end in sight! A dental hygienist from Oregon will be beginning full time work starting July 15th. Her presence in the community will be a wonderful resource to have and will greatly benefit the health of our students. Grace will be including other students from other partner schools within the area and rural areas in the dental program. The Dental hygienist will receive constant support and training from US licensed dentists.

The idea behind the dental clinic at Grace is to provide our students and community members with quality dental care. Many of our students have never seen a dentist before so it is wonderful for us to be able to provide them with access to a high standard of dentistry.

We have a fully operational one chair dental clinic that is available to serve the community at any time. Currently, we are prepared to serve the community for basic dental needs such as exams, cleanings, extractions, etc. We hope to obtain an X-ray machine soon to increase the quality of care we can provide.

A staple in the clinic is providing oral health education to the students and community. Teaching them the proper ways to take of their teeth will lead to fewer problems in the future. We are proud to have a system in both English and Spanish to instruct the community.

We also partner with Global Dental Relief, an organization that works to provide free dental work to children. Thanks to GDR, over 150 of Grace students and others in the area have been seen. We are thankful for this partnership and excited to continue working together in the future.
